Best SOC 2 Compliance Software: Prices and Who Each Suits

AutomateWisely Editorial Team · Last reviewed October 31, 2026 · How we research

Compliance platforms rarely publish prices, which makes “best” lists easy to write and hard to trust. This one starts from what companies actually pay and what vendors actually publish, then tells you who each platform suits and where it tends to disappoint.

$20,000
Median yearly contract for Vanta and for Secureframe in purchase data; Drata’s is $25,000.
$7,500
The lowest published entry price, shared by several platforms in 2026.
Most
platforms do not include the CPA audit. Budget it separately.
Our shortlist: Vanta for the broadest prebuilt coverage, Drata for engineering teams that want detailed custom tests, Secureframe for a low published entry tier with expert help on higher plans, Sprinto and Carbide for tight budgets, and Thoropass if you want the platform and audit arranged through one provider. Whatever you pick, compare first year totals, not platform prices alone; the tool below does that for two quotes.

Compare two quotes, first year

The platform price is only one line. Pick two platforms, adjust the prices to your real quotes, and see the full first year side by side, including the audit, the penetration test and your team’s time.

Same for both

Prices prefill from the published or median figures in this guide; replace them with your quotes. Hours default to 400, inside the 300 to 600 buyers report for a first Type 2; change them if a vendor’s automation will really save time. Nothing you enter is stored or sent.

Questions before you sign

Do we need a platform at all?

No. It is optional. Very small teams with simple infrastructure can pass with a specialist auditor and well kept spreadsheets. Platforms pay off when evidence collection would otherwise eat weeks of staff time.

Does any platform include the audit?

Most do not. Thoropass arranges audits through an affiliated CPA practice and ComplyJet advertises one external audit in its plans; confirm the report type and scope before relying on it.

How much do extra frameworks cost?

It varies: Sprinto lists from $2,000 for the first framework and Scytale from $2,100 per additional one. Ask every vendor for the price now and at renewal.

Should we sign a multi year deal?

Only with a written cap on renewal increases. Multi year discounts are common, and so are surprises in year two.

Can we switch platforms later?

Yes, best right after a report is issued. Plan to reconnect integrations and migrate policies and evidence.

How we chose: we compared published prices, marketplace listings, purchase data and vendor documentation, and weighed integration coverage, ease for small teams, price transparency, support and framework coverage. We did not run each platform through a full audit, and no vendor paid to be included. We are not affiliated with any platform listed.
