AI and automation for business, explained without the hype
AutomateWisely is an independent website that explains how businesses can use artificial intelligence, AI agents and automation, and how to govern them responsibly, in plain English. Our goal is to help founders, operations leaders, IT and compliance teams understand their options well enough to make their own decisions.

Most AI content is either a sales pitch or a guess
Vendor content is written to sell a product. Generic articles repeat the same claims without numbers, dates or sources. Neither helps a business owner who has to decide whether to automate a process, which tool to choose or what a regulation actually requires. We take a practical, engineering approach instead:
Primary data first. Official regulations, standards bodies, government statistics and published research.
Show the calculation. We state our assumptions so you can change the numbers to fit your business.
Same criteria for everyone. We say who each option is best for, and what to watch out for.
Honest about disagreement. When sources disagree, we say so instead of picking the most convenient number.
Six topics, one practical lens

The person behind AutomateWisely
Gerard Cabana
Founder and editor of AutomateWisely
Gerard is a qualified engineer based in Barcelona, Spain, and the creator of AutomateWisely. He researches, writes and updates every guide from regulations, standards and published research, with one goal: to make AI and automation easier to understand for the people who have to decide.
Guides are signed by the AutomateWisely Editorial Team, the name we use for the site’s research and editing work, which Gerard leads. We focus on clear explanations, checked figures and practical checklists rather than personal opinions.
What AutomateWisely is, and is not
- An independent publisher of guides, comparisons and calculators
- Funded by advertising, never by the vendors we review
- Open about our sources, dates and assumptions
- A software vendor, consultancy, law, accounting or audit firm
- A provider of compliance audits or certifications
- Open to payment for inclusion or a better position in comparisons
Our content is general information, not personalized legal, compliance, financial or technical advice. For decisions with legal or regulatory consequences, check the official sources we link and consult a qualified professional.
How every guide is built
- 01Every guide shows a “Last reviewed” date.
- 02Figures link to the source they come from, with the date of the study or price check.
- 03Prices and plan limits are checked against vendor pages or dated third-party reports, and we say which.
- 04Rankings and comparisons are editorial and not paid for. Unless a review says otherwise, we have not tested tools in a production environment.
- 05When we find an error, we correct it and update the review date.
